About PreICO: thanks and delays

01/08/2018

First of all let me welcome everybody on this new platform which You requested to have deeper insights on our work and constant updates. Second, and most important I believe, I wish to thank all of our followers, subscribers and investors for all the support we were given, despite a kind of sloppy start. Yes, because we are still missing things we ought not to miss at all. Though, you know, vacations are vacations, and my team, my friends, had to struggle against a huge amount of work. Furthermore, network congestion is not helping altogether. However, do not worry and stay tuned! ICO is starting today and we are very motivated to give You our best in the next two months, again due to Your support, present and future. So, please keep following us on Twitter, Telegram and here and share with your friends. Remember, we believe in the project because YOU do. Having said so, I wish You a great 2018 and I thank You another time for Your trust and support.

Discover FreeHands©!

01/12/2018

Hello there! Woo-Jin here, namely Seeds’ CTO. Laird asked me to write about the AI we developed, so here I am. Though the explanation seems to me be a bit redundant, don’t you say? “Nomen, omen” I suppose. Er… quite. We did chose that name purposely. FreeHands is going to be a revolutionary experience, built to make you feel inside the website and not in front of a screen. It can work without any data at all, just by asking you to make very simple choices. Choose one among three major paths and FreeHands will do the rest, looking for the best moments and skipping all by itself through the videos. We aim to release FreeHands as soon as the website is completed (it takes a lot of time to persuade FreeHands to swallow all those videos, so please be patient, we are advancing well) for VIP members only. However, depending on the funds we raise in the meantime, we may have a little surprise for all of you. Stay tuned until next time!

Just a cup of coffee in Zurich

01/14/2018

Welcome to this new story! It’s Ash this time. First of all forgive my storytelling, I’m not much of a writer, then, second, keep sustaining the project, Laird did put all of himself into this, and finally, enjoy!

When I was sixteen, I got my first real job: I was a dishwasher. At that time I was living with my mother outside London and, like many teenagers, I was trying to earn something, so after school I went to a pub not far from home, where I stayed until late at night. The pay was modest but I didn’t need much. All I wanted was to leave that tiny little corner of the world and go to university. I finally managed to enrol in London School of Economics and Political Science, where I spent three years studying. I had to keep working in the meantime, so it was hard at first. Then I got a scholarship and I moved to Switzerland for the next two years, aiming to a master’s degree in human resource management.
Interested in my thesis’ work, an old professor of mine called me back to England, offering me a job. So I moved to Plymouth and became a private agent in a couple of years. I had to discover talents and bring them to success. I started with theatre, first inside London itself, then all around England, and then I got interested in fashion. I liked my work and I was travelling a lot, but everyday I felt there was no career perspective anymore. I mean, I felt I could do something more than just being ordered around the world, hoping for a lucky chance. I turned to adult entertainment. I know, it may be strange to hear all of a sudden, but it was still just work, at least up to me. I had to find talents, just of a different kind. However, when I finally got my company, I felt satisfied.

Many years later, I made a random acquaintance while I was enjoying a vacation in Zurich. A friend of mine put me in touch with a compatriot, who later became a close friend. Almost for fun, he proposed me a singular project. It was something very amateur like, but in time he changed his mind, building up truly something out of that rude first idea. He started to gather skilled people around and I followed him, too.
Now I remember that summer of 2016, when I was looking to a gardener, sipping a cup of tea just outside the Opernhaus. I said “Fancy “Seeds”? Sounds good to me.”

#NewsWeek

02/04/2018

Hello everyone! I am Ethan, Seeds’ designer. Today, I want to introduce you to the upcoming news Leo mentioned last week. However, there will be a little change of plans I proposed to Laird, who approved the whole thing.
First things first, then: I’ll be explaining our NewsWeek in detail. Currently, I and my team are working on many different updates, so many we were forced to use the first contributions to hire two new developers to assist me in order to get things done. Second, we will be listening to the feedbacks to decide which will be the order of release of what we are working on, in a very simple way. Follow the hashtag #NewsWeek on Twitter and like and share the tweet marked with it: ten days from today we will use the total number of interactions to decide the release order.
Nice isn’t it?
We are going to publish three main tweets, regarding Seeds App, Seeds VR interface and FreeHands. Choose what would you like to see released first and share the tweet, so that we will know. I hope many of you will participate in NewsWeek!
See you in the next days!

Ethan

Days of regret

01/08/2018

Lately, we got many comments asking more information about us. I’m very sorry, but I have to state again that we will not reveal our complete names, as we all agreed not to involve our private lives: many of us insisted in this sense, above all those who got family and children.
However, in order to let You know each member of the team a little better, I decided to start a new format on this blog: taking turns, we will tell a short episode of our life which lead to Seeds’ birth. Our stories are pretty unique, I have to admit.
I remember gladly my days at university: each lesson, each hour was different back then, new topics and new interesting arguments every day. After the degree I received an offer in an important pharmacy industry I can’t mention (but it’s not difficult to guess): they were looking for a brilliant mathematician to work side by side with a team of chemists. Basically I had to analyze data all day, but at that time it seemed to me the best offer ever. Also, I already knew German, so I left London at once, moving to Berlin. I understood the first day my mistake. They briefly introduced me to the team, but everybody barely noticed me. They simply didn’t care. I was a stranger, talking in a funny accent, both to them and their work. I remember the first thing they asked me: “Do you know how to use a Gaussian regression?” I thought they were joking, but they were not. I simply seemed too young. Even if, just a couple of months before, I had been discussing about chaos theory, dynamic systems, differential equations and even string theory. All of that meant nothing anymore.
My boredom, anger and sadness grew day after day. It wasn’t the work I had dreamed of, but I stayed, for at least they payed me well. Two years of dissatisfaction, which slowly eroded my soul and my mind.
But then, a shot in the dark: I met Leo (our current CFO). He was almost my age, with my own dreams for the future and awful job. We never stopped working together. He convinced me to move to Swiss and start a PhD in quantitative finance. There, I found my way, going finally back to those days, when everything was exciting and challenging.
Years later, I met Ash and Seeds was born.

Fresh news and updates

01/23/2018

Hallo! It’s Leo again, Seeds Chief Financial Officer. As you may have noticed, we have been pretty busy working on the project lately, so I would like to introduce you to the latest news (each of them should come out within a month). Some of them may be out of my field of work, but I will do my best to explain. First, about bounty campaign. The campaign is proceeding fairly well, starting from Twitter and Translation campaigns. So we will be updating seedsico.info very soon, in order to add multi-language papers: we have three new languages ready and other are in progress. Then, I know many of you have been asking about Twitter spreadsheet, but please be patient: we originally planned on two releases, the first of which at half ICO. We did not expect such a success! Also, consider that each early release would be extremely out to date, as the campaign is structured to be highly dynamic, so we would just receive many complains and nothing else. So, again, please be patient: we are counting your stakes anyway.
Second, we will finally open seedsporn.com! I know it took a lot of time to do so, but FreeHands can be really stubborn. There should be enough material to really be called an entertainment site (also we may have a little surprise…). Please note that VIP membership won’t be present at launch: we will activate it only at the end of ICO, to fully integrate it with our token.
Finally, we are working on the other technologies we know you are waiting for: Seeds app is under construction (but should be following site’s opening with, hopefully, not much delay) as well as our VR interface. We are really looking forward to showing everybody our progresses. Keep following us on every channel, we plan on releasing screenshots very soon. I suppose Ethan will be the right person to introduce everybody to his efforts.
Stay tuned, until next time!

A Reverie in Paris

01/29/2018

Hallo! I’m Leo once again, Seeds’ CFO. I have been asked to tell an event in my life which led to Seeds’ birth, but I won’t. Not directly at least. But please, follow me anyway.
Years ago, I was studying business and economics in Lyon, France, but first of all I was travelling. I loved France, and the more I discovered, the more I wanted to discover. Of course, I have been to Paris, and this story begins there, on top of Eiffel’s Tower. I remember standing there alone, above the city and below the clouds, somehow trapped in that limbo. I was listening to a group of tourists singing words I couldn’t understand: they were not from France nor from Germany, my homeland. However, I let myself surround by that music and it was beautiful. I soon lost the account of time and I probably stayed there for more than two hours, looking far on the horizon. When I finally got back to my senses, I realise the tourists must have left much before, but I didn’t care. I had time to think about myself and what was going to be. That day gave my a feeling I can’t really describe, but it spurred me on every single second since then.
When I got back to Lyon, I ended up my studies as quickly as I could, moving then to Switzerland. It was not much later that I met a certain young and unsatisfied British mathematician, full of ideas, but without resources and the right acquaintances. I told him about my day in Paris and he was amazed. It was not much later that our first project together was started.
